The Nicky Oliver Academy is part of the Award Winning Nicky Oliver Hairdressing group and welcomes everyone to come and experience a whole new level of training. From complete beginners, who are either looking for a career change or have decided to realize their dream of becoming a hairstylist or barber, to qualified stylists who need their confidence building or to more advance stylists who would like to refresh their skills or learn a new skill or fashion. We are able to offer courses that will match the needs of both the individual, and that of a large group of hairstylists.

Basic Taster Hairdressing Course for Beginners

This course is designed for the person who is uncertain about having a career change and is trying to decide whether to enter the wonderful world of hairdressing. If you have already made that decision, and wish to train as a hairstylist, the Beginners Classic NVQ Level 2 course is the choice for you.

The Basic taster 6 day course will give you a taste of the work involved in training for a career in hairdressing and should help you make your decision.

You would spend the six days experiencing selected aspects of hairdressing, with a variety of disciplines which may include any of the following: Cutting, Blow-drying, Highting, Long hairdressing, Perming and Curling hair

This course is delivered on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday over 2 weeks.

Men's Hairdressing / Barbering Course for Beginners
Nicky Oliver Men’s Hairdressing / Barbering Course for Beginners will qualify you in just 42 days over 14 weeks  Payment Plans Available.
Men’s hairdressing/barbering is a specialist skill in demand with the growth of the men’s hairdressing and barbering industry. The course is an intensive, practical course, designed to cater for students with little or no knowledge of the  profession. You will learn basic and up to date skills along with the theory and technical knowledge required to become a professional Men’s stylist/barber.

The aim of the course is to enable you to become a professional working stylist/Barber of a high standard. The classes are small to ensure each individual receives the correct amount of training according to individual needs.

You will be continually assessed throughout the course and will be working towards gaining your NVQ level 2 and the Nicky Oliver Academy Diploma in Men’s hairdressing/barbering Student must reach the minimum standards required to qualify for the Nicky Oliver diploma.
Your age and experience is immaterial. Your enthusiasm and an interest in the profession, along with our proven teaching methods, which are delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment, will ensure that you progress towards gaining your qualification.

Nicky Oliver Men’s Hairdressing / Barbering Course for Beginners covers everything you need to enable you to be up and running working as a barber. Successful  Students will gain an NVQ level 2 in Mens hairdressing/barbering and the Nicky Oliver Diploma

Beginners Classic Course NVQ Level 2 plus Nicky Oliver Diploma

The Nicky Oliver Academy Beginners course is delivered over 2 or 3 days each week. The course is an intensive, practical course, designed to cater for students with little or no knowledge of the hairdressing profession. You will learn basic and up to date hairdressing skills along with the theory and technical knowledge required to become a professional stylist.

The aim of the course is to enable you to become a professional working stylist of a high standard. The classes are small to ensure each individual receives the correct amount of training according to individual needs.

The Nicky Oliver Academy Combined NVQ Level 2 & 3, plus Nicky Oliver Diploma Beginners course is delivered over 3 days each week. The course is an intensive, practical course, designed to cater for students with little or no knowledge of the hairdressing profession. For the first half of the course you will learn basic and up to date hairdressing skills along with the theory and technical knowledge required to become a professional stylist. Once completed, you will move onto the next level and learn more advanced techniques taking hairdressing to a more advanced level.

The aim of the course is to enable you to become a professional working stylist of a high standard with a more in depth understanding and experience of the hairdressing profession. The classes are small to ensure each individual receives the correct amount of training according to individual needs.

You will be continually assessed throughout the course and will be working towards gaining your NVQ Level 2, Level 3 and the Nicky Oliver Academy Diploma in Hairdressing. Students must reach the minimum standards required to qualify for the Nicky Oliver diploma.

Your age and experience is immaterial. Your enthusiasm and an interest in the profession and your willingness to change your career, along with our proven teaching methods, which are delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment, will ensure that you progress towards gaining your qualification.

The Nicky Oliver Academy Refresher course is delivered over 3 days each week, and can range from a 3 day course right up to 36 days for those people who think they require the extra updates to their skills. The course is designed for experienced stylists who wish to update their skills, those looking for inspiration and motivation, or any stylist that wish to build up their confidence. Students will learn today’s advanced fashion techniques, update their skills and gain the confidence that is required in today’s professional hairdressing environment. The student will be taught techniques from traditional to contemporary. The classes are small to ensure each individual receives the correct amount of training according to individual needs.
Telephone advice will be given to make sure the course is the right course for you, many students benefit greatly from the 3 day course but we also have students who wish to spend more time training and they are able to do so on this course.

Basic Cutting Course

Duration: 1 Day

Experience: Students/Newly qualified/ Returners

Cost: £265.00+ VAT per day

The Nicky Oliver Academy Basic Cutting course is delivered in one or more days, as required by the student. The course is ideal for hairstylists who have recently completed their training, are currently studying or re-entering the profession after a long absence.

The course is an ideal way to build confidence in cutting techniques.

The course content will include:

Advanced cutting techniques
Advanced colouring techniques
Avante-Garde Styling
Intensive Consultations.

On successful completion of the course, students will receive the Nicky Oliver Academy Refresher Diploma.

Advanced Cutting Course

Duration: 2 to 3 days

Experience: Salon experience

The Nicky Oliver Academy Advanced Cutting course is delivered in 2 or more days, as required by the student. The course is ideal for the professional stylist who would like to update their skills, and develop their cutting artistry.

The student will be shown techniques developed at the Nicky Oliver Academy alongside other advanced cutting techniques. These will include all latest fashion cutting techniques which are in the current trends. This will also help motivate and give confidence to the student.

Fashion Cut and Colouring Techniques

Duration: 2/3 days

Experience: Salon experience

Cost: £265.00 + V.A.T. Per day

The Nicky Oliver Academy Fashion Cut and Colouring Techniques course is delivered in 2 or more days, as required by the student. The course is ideal for the professional stylist who is looking for inspiration and motivation in the fascinating world of hair colour and fashion cuts.

The latest fashion techniques developed at the Nicky Oliver Academy will be shown alongside other fashion techniques. These will include all latest fashion cutting techniques which are in the current trends. This will also help motivate and give confidence to the student.

One Day Seminar

 Cost: £1500.00 + V.A.T.

Held on your own premises, this seminar will stimulate and inspire all your team members. The latest fashion cutting and colouring techniques will be demonstrated, and you will be given the knowledge to utilise these techniques in your own salon. During the morning session there will be a demonstration where to students can observe and learn, then during the afternoon the workshop will give the student the opportunity to take what they’ve learned in the morning and work on models. This will help build confidence in the students and help motivate the team.

Any specific requirements you may have may be included in the seminar.

Two Day Afro Seminar

Cost: £1500.00 + V.A.T. per day

Held on your own premises, this seminar will give your team members the confidence to work with Afro hair. All aspects of working with Afro hair including relaxing, texturising, finishing, and styling techniques will be covered and are delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment.

NICKY OLIVER ACADEMY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1 Courses run Monday-Wednesday unless otherwise informed and will commence 10.00am. We aim to finish training at 4.00pm but there may be a later finish should the afternoon session require more time.
2 The Academy is not open on bank holidays and will close for a holiday period during Christmas and New Year.
3 No equipment will be provided by the Academy, students are expected to attend with their own tools.
Students enrolled on a 6 or 4 month beginners’ course must attend their course with a full kit which must be purchased from Nicky Oliver
4 Models will be provided by the Academy but alternative options may also be used.
5 Students are expected to attend on time. The Academy dress code is black in winter and black or white in summer. No open toed shoes to be worn in the Academy
6 Should you be unable to attend because of illness no refund will be applicable, a replacement date may be given, at our discretion, on receipt of a doctors’ certificate.
7 The Academy is not responsible for any loss or damage to the students’ personal possessions including working tools.
8 The Academy reserves the right to refuse to teach any student that behaves improperly or is disruptive.
9 Non English speaking students must attend with a translator.
10 Any examination fees must be paid by the student.
11 Any photographs or recordings taken are the sole property of Nicky Oliver and must not be used or published, without prior consent of Nicky Oliver.
12 Should the student have any complaints about the construction or management of the course they must put these in writing to the Managing Director.
13 The brand name ”Nicky Oliver Hairdressing” must not be used without prior permission of the Managing Director, e.g. personal promotion, advertising or marketing. These examples are not a comprehensive list.

NICKY OLIVER ACADEMY FINANCIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1 All fees must be paid in full 28 days prior to commencement of course.

2 No refunds will be given should the student not attend or complete the course.

3 All fees are subject to V.A.T. at the current rate.

4 Credit terms are available on request and will be subject to an additional credit charge. All credit payments must be by standing order.

5 Credit terms are only available for completed courses, should the course not be completed, for any reason, the full balance of payment will be due immediately.

6 There will be no obligation on behalf of the Academy to rearrange any course cancelled by the student after the course has been confirmed.

7 The Academy will endeavour to reschedule any course cancelled by ourselves but will be subject to availability.

8 All fees are subject to change without prior notice.
